There are camouflage patterns—and then there are the ones that become part of who WE are. Greenleaf is one of those patterns that has shaped Nomad as a brand.

History

Introduced in the late 1980s, Greenleaf was born before computers, digital rendering, or algorithms ever touched camouflage design. It came from dirt floors and factory rooms filled with bark, branches, and leaves - cut from the cloth of mother nature. Mossy Oak founder Toxey Haas wasn’t trying to create something trendy—he was trying to disappear. He studied the vertical lines of tree bark, the way leaves layered and cast shadow, and how depth—not color—was the key to breaking up the human outline.

Greenleaf took the original Bottomland concept and added dimension. Leaves layered over bark. Depth over flatness. It was built for the Southern woods, spring turkey seasons, and hardwood bottoms—but it quickly proved it could work anywhere hunters went.

For a generation of hunters, Greenleaf became iconic. It showed up on the walls of old bow shops, on the covers of early hunting VHS tapes, and in the memories of mornings that shaped why we hunt in the first place. Those patterns didn’t just hide hunters—they defined an era.

That LEGACY matters.

At Nomad, we were built with the same mindset: purpose over flash, pursuit over personality. From day one, our focus has been whitetail deer and turkey—species and seasons where details matter and authenticity can’t be faked. That’s why Mossy Oak was the first partner we ever approached. And it’s why bringing Greenleaf into the Nomad lineup feels less like a collaboration and more like a homecoming.

This isn’t a pattern we adopted for nostalgia alone. It’s one that aligns with how we build gear—functional, intentional, and rooted in real experience. Greenleaf fits because Nomad was cut from the same cloth: designed for hunters who care about where things come from and why they exist.

More than a pattern

Today, Greenleaf carries more than concealment. It carries MEMORY. It connects past to present, old-school craft to modern performance. And as camo continues to move beyond the woods and into everyday life, Greenleaf stands as proof that what was built right the first time never goes out of style.

This is more than a pattern.

It’s a story.

And it’s one we’re proud to carry forward.
